HAMPSON, Wilma (nee Parish)
On Saturday, June 19, 2021 Wilma Hampson passed away peacefully with grace at Fairvern Nursing Home with the love of her family at her side. Wilma was born in Bracebridge to parents William and Olive Parish and raised in Utterson. She attended V.K. Greer Public School back when it was a one room schoolhouse and later attended High School in Bracebridge. On June 20, 1959 Wilma married Harold Hampson and together raised their 5 children.
A loving mother and homemaker, Wilma was a remarkable cook and baker and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She loved to camp, square dance with Harold, quilt and play games with her grandchildren or she could be found sitting quietly working on her puzzles.
Wilma was predeceased by her husband, Harold on December 5, 2016. She is the loving mother of Debbie (Gary), Jim (Bev), Dave (Lydia), Mike (Filipa) and Joe (Jenn). She is the adored grandmother of 10, great-grandma of 7 and great-great grandma of 2. She is predeceased by her sister Hope and her husband (George). Wilma will be dearly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Diane Chatillon, Cindy Lawrence, Ruth Hampson and her 7 nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fairvern Nursing Home who lovingly cared for Wilma throughout her stay and for the love, compassion and support given to her and her family during her final days.
Cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Fairvern Nursing Home or to the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Shelter.
