Una Isabelle Payne, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend to many, left this world peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Huntsville, Ontario, at the age of 99. Born on May 8, 1925, in Newholm, Ontario at the age of 99, just shy of celebrating her 100th birthday. Una spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great grandmother, embodying the essence of love, faith, and resilience.

Una is survived by her dear children: Ron Payne and Ann, Sylvia Brazeau, Donna West and Howie, Nancy Kuzee and John, Larry Payne and Susan, and Sherry Payne and Art. She was a loving grandmother to Lance, Leonard and Crystal, Julie, Susan and Don, James, Jason, Renee and Mike, Bryan, Brent, Amy and Phil, Jeremy, Scott and Crystal, Van Nessa and Shawn, Amber and Chris, and Brandy, Tamara and John. Una’s heart swelled with pride and joy watching her family grow, with many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren who brought her so much happiness.

Una will also be fondly remembered by her dear sister Beth, Gordon, and Heather, who shared warmth and laughter in their times together.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Gordon, whom she missed dearly, along with her sons, David and Gerry. Una rejoined her cherished parents, Simon Aitchison and Mary MacInnes Martin, and her brothers, David, Joseph, Jeff, Jack, Len, Mac, Don, and Mervine.

Known for her unwavering faith, Una lived her life dedicated to her Lord and Saviour, whose love shone brightly in her heart. As she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and familial dedication, those who knew her will forever carry her spirit and the lessons she imparted.

There will be a visitation held in her honor on April 11, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Billingsley Funeral Home, located at 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville, Ontario, P1H 1L7. As family and friends gather to reflect on Una's remarkable life, we find solace in knowing that she rests now in the arms of her loved ones who have gone before her. A celebration of life will occur in the spring followed by her interment beside her beloved husband at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery. Please check back for further details.
