It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Tom, a devoted husband to Cherie Christine, beloved father of Lo (Lew), Marty, Darryl (Lyndsay), Tommy (Jessie), Chip (Madison) and Andrea, cherished grandfather to Jeremy, Justin, Owen, Zoe, Zack, Mya, Marcus, Frankie, and soon to be Rose. Foster father to numerous children in care during his 25 years as a foster parent with Toronto Catholic Children’s Aid Society, where he was also President of the Foster Family Association. Beloved son of Frank (predeceased) and Beverly Waldock. Brother to Julie (Rob), Ted (Moe), Doug (Dale), Debbie (Dave), and Dave, beloved nephew of Bob Waldock (Carol), Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Best friend of Glenn Thomas (Sacha) and George McKay (Pauline).

Tom was a Professor at Nipissing University, where he was Chair of the Child and Family Studies program for over a decade. His primary focus was on areas of children’s rights, marginalized children, child welfare and caregiving. Tom will always be remembered for his gentle, kind, loving and accepting ways. With strength and dignity, his generosity will forever be remembered in his final act of selflessness when he donated his organs at his passing.

The Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Billingsley Funeral Home in Huntsville on Saturday December 10th, at 11am. We invite you to donate to The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto Foundation or the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto Foundation, in lieu of sending flowers.
