Simon Eygenraam
Born March 15, 1934 in Delft, South Holland, The Netherlands, Simon immigrated in 1948 at the age of 14. Despite many hardships, he flourished in his new country eventually retiring in Huntsville, Ontario. Wherever he lived he created beautiful gardens. He loved to play games and walk with his dogs.
Simon loved much and was equally loved in return. He will be remembered by many for his quiet acts of service to others. Above all his faithful care of his wife Corrie over many years was a witness to all who knew him.
On July 15, 2019, Simon let go of his earthly cares. During his extended illness he was lovingly cared for by his children Ken and Jacqui; by his sisters Hannie, Elsie and Lena; and by his grandson Nathan. More family and his church community St. Andrew’s Presbyterian in Huntsville surrounded him with love and prayers. He left his earthly home in the knowledge of how dear he was to so many and in the confidence of the even greater love of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Corrie. He is survived by his children, Ken, Jacqui, Lorraine and Glenna. Lovingly remembered by his son-in-law John Eisen, grandchildren, Kate (David) Hagen, Nathan, Simeon (Michelle), Tessa (Andrew) Talat and Caleb (Lauren Wall). His great-grandchildren, Elly, Charlotte, Hans, Nineveh, Oliver, Marten, Willa and Bram brought him much joy. His and Corrie’s brothers and sisters will miss him dearly.
