Passed away peacefully at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 6, 2024 in her 85th year. She is predeceased by her husband Lavern Leonard.
She is predeceased by her parents, brothers Fred (Shirley) and Earl (Isolde) Howard, Lavern's parents Wesley and Muriel Leonard, brothers-in-law Leslie (Norma), Mel (Hazel), Wallace (Heather), Bruce (Mary) and sisters-in-law Norma (Jim), Vera (Lavern). Ruth will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ruth touched many people’s lives during her 85 years. In the most recent years she was a faithful participant and supporter of Faith Baptist Church (Huntsville), and many community organizations. She was compassionate about helping those less fortunate and used her time and talents to fulfill this passion. She was kind, sweet, friendly, generous, and always willing to lend a hand. Her exemplary example will not be forgotten . She will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In keeping with Ruth's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
