Phyllis Jean (Brown) Tebby

Passed away peacefully on September 15th 2023, surrounded by her family in her 96th year, at Lakeland Long Term Care in Parry Sound Ontario. 

Jean was the much loved wife of the late Henry Tebby.  Cherished mother of Jeff, Brenda, Robert and Sandra (Butch). Loving gramma to Ryan Arnold (Lindsey), Chad Arnold (Liane), Steven Tebby (Allison), Cassandra Arnold (Tim), Braden Gray, Shelly Paquin (Ben), Riley Arnold (Robbie) and Dylan Tebby.  Special GG to Payton, Ariah, Asher, Micah, Ellie, Adelyn,  Addison, Wyatt, Vincent and Edward

Jean was born to Dr. and Mrs. R H Brown on September 29th 1927, in Bracebridge Ontario. She had two older brothers Roy and Hugh and a sister Mona. In her later life she met her half brother Chester (Marilyn) Brown.  She grew up in Utterson and had an active childhood. She was always helpful,  kind and excelled in all sports activities.  In her late teens she began to play badminton. She won many tournaments in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.  Playing in these tournaments was where she met her husband Henry. Jean was a much loved teacher for many years. 

Her four children kept her very busy in various activities; figure skating, hockey and badminton to name a few. Many a skating costume was made by our talented mom. Where she really shone was in her kitchen, hearts were won with her baking. She could out fish us all and enjoyed bridge with the ladies.  She was a great example of what a mom should be and gave all of us so much to remember. She will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Billingsley Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until time of the funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm.  Reception to follow.  As an expression  of sympathy memorial donations can be made to the West Parry Sound Health Centre or charity of choice In lieu of flowers.
