June 17,1943-January 30,2018 Peter died unexpectedly on January 30,2018 in Huntsville. He was predeceased by his parents Doris(Olan) and Joe Taplin. Peter attended school at SS6A Franklin at Port Cunnington. Following in his father's footsteps, he later graduated from the Plumbers Course at the Provincial Institute of Trade in Toronto in 1963. He continued to operate the family plumbing business for several years after his father's death in 1987. He served as a Volunteer Fireman in Port Cunnington Station #20 for many years. After retirement he stayed at Port Cunnington and sold the family home in 1999 when he then moved to an apartment in Huntsville. He enjoyed traveling and took his most recent trip to Florida before Christmas, 2017. In his younger years he loved to ski at Hidden Valley and was a very good skier.He also enjoyed going to the mall regularly for a meal and visiting with friends. Special thanks to the staff of The Bear's Den Restaurant for their friendly service and for being attentive to his needs. Also special thanks to Coast and Closing the Gap for their support and daily care. Left to mourn are many cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Jame's Anglican Church in Port Cunnington on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow at the Port Cunnington Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Mental Health Association Muskoka/Parry Sound, Coast Program or the Port Cunnington Lake of Bays Fire Department Station#20.
