Patricia June (Hodge) Cooper

COOPER, Patricia June (nee Hodge)

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Muskoka Landing at the age of 92.  Patricia was born on June 18, 1929 in Dunbarton, Ontario to parents George & Nellie (nee Boulter) Hodge. After graduating high school, Patricia married Hugh James Cooper on May 21, 1949 in Huntsville, Ontario, they had 4 children together. Patricia returned to high school in 1969 to complete grade 13 French to better her ability to provide for her family, later enrolling in teacher's college in North Bay for two years.  In 1973 she would begin her teaching career teaching at the elementary level for 20 years before retiring in her sixty's.  Retirement would find Patricia at home gardening, knitting, reading, the occasional trip away, square dancing and spending time with her family.  Patricia volunteered with the Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary for many years and would also collect for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Patricia is the wife of the late Hugh Cooper who predeceased her in 1978.  She is survived by her loving children James Cooper and Barbara (Louis) Perentesis. Pre deceased by her son's John (Anne) Cooper and Charles Cooper. She is the adored grandmother of Chuck (Jenn) Cooper, Kevin (Sarah) Cooper, Timothy (Ryoko) Cooper, Amanda (Marc) Ally, Megan Verhey (Dave), Peter Perentesis, Dimitra Perentesis and Nicholas Perentesis.  Great Grandmother of Seth, Shay, Thomas, Eli, Ivy, Ronin, Sullivan, Maverick, Colt, Jaxon, Kiera, Mei-Ann and Lilly.

The family would like to thank Muskoka Landing and its staff for their exemplary care Patricia received.

The visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Billingsley Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Billingsley Funeral Home.  Reception to follow the funeral service.  Patricia will be laid to rest during a private family service at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery following the reception.  As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Alzheimer Society of Muskoka or to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Messages of condolence can be left at www.billingsleyfuneralhome.com
