Millie Riefstahl Mrs.

Mildred "Millie" Alice Riefstahl passed away peacefully at Muskoka Landing Long Term Care on December 1, 2016 at 86 years young. Millie leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Douglas. Cherished mother of Susan (Bob) Scott, and the late Margaret. Loving grandmother of Chris, Lindsay & Rob, Heather & Paul. Dear great grandmother of Morgan and Marley. Loving sister of Jim Shuttleworth, Mary Ann (Jack) Liddy, and sister in law of Valerie Shuttleworth. Predeceased by her brother Bill. Born October 16, 1930 in Kitchener, she spent a few years in both Windsor and Timmins before moving to Kapuskasing when she was 11, where she lived for close to 35 years. From a small Northern Ontario town, where she met and married Doug, she went on to live in England and Wisconsin before settling in Huntsville in 1978. Millie felt her greatest accomplishment was that of a homemaker to her family. She also had a passion for history and travel. She and Doug were able to explore many parts of the world. She wrote extensive travelogues detailing their experiences, and loved to share her stories. Millie will be missed by her family and friends. At her request, there will be no funeral service. The family will celebrate her life at a later date. If desired, Memorial Gifts to the Huntsville Salvation Army, or Algonquin Grace Hospice Huntsville would be appreciated by the family.
