Mary Caroline Wright

It is with overwhelming sadness that we share the passing of our dear, Mary Caroline Wright, nee Tomlinson. Surrounded by her loving family, Mary passed away at the Huntsville Hospital on January 28, 2024.

Mary is survived and dearly missed by her devoted husband of 49 years, Donald Wright of Huntsville.  She leaves behind three loving daughters Tracy (Jason) of Utterson, Katie (Ben) of Huntsville, and Emily (Sam) of Oakville.  She is the cherished Nana of Aidan, Morgan, Owen, Ava, Anika, Jonah, Ivan, Eli, and Lynlee. Mary is predeceased by her parents Reg and Audrey  (nee Sedore) Tomlinson formerly of Huntsville.  She will be affectionately remembered by her sister Doris (Ian) Longmore.  Mary has many nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in laws, who will all remember Aunt Mary with such fondness.  She loved and cherished you all so very much.

Mary was born on July 2nd, 1955 in Newmarket and grew up in Sutton, Ont.  On June 29, 1974, she married her sweetheart, Don, previously of Rome, Georgia.  They settled in Bracebridge where they worked together to raise their family.

Mary had a way of reaching all the space in a room with her beautiful smile and her laugh that could often be heard down the hallway.  She grew friendships during all the stages of her wonderful life, ranging from her highschool years, to the different banks where she first worked, the local schools where she taught for many years, and the different neighbourhoods where Don and Mary built houses and lived (until Mary was ready to move again.)  Most recently she had developed loving friendships as part of the snowbird stage of life.

After her teaching career, Don and Mary happily settled into retirement at their dream home on Lake Waseosa.  They cherished family time spent together with their children and grandchildren enjoying life on the lake.  They looked forward to winter trips to Myrtle Beach with their beloved furbaby Rudy.  They joined in organized activities and spent hours together bike riding, beachcombing and soaking up the sunshine.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. with the eulogy being said at 2:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Huntsville Hospital Foundation at www.huntsvillehospitalfoundation.ca
