Mary Gordon (Davidson) McCutcheon

Mary Gordon McCutcheon (nee Davidson)
October 2, 1926 to March 11, 2020

With her beloved John (Lovable Old John, as she called him!) at her side, Mary slipped peacefully away, at home, on March 11, 2020.  Son Bill (Jo Anne), daughter Sue (Ron) and daughter Jane (Ted) were with "Mom" to tell her how much they love her - how much they learned from her, how much they admired her, how much they will miss her.  Mary passed at home, covered by her handmade quilts, and surrounded by the many arts and crafts projects she created in her amazing lifetime.  John and Mary met on September 27, 1945 at Western University.  They married on September 17, 1949 and for all 70 years of their marriage, they were soul mates, life mates, and best friends.  What an inspiration to friends, relatives and especially their 3 children, to their grandchildren Heather (Eric), Bonnie (Ricardo), David (Terri), Breena (Keith), and to their great grandchildren, Kane, Kinley, Theo, Hudson, and Julia.  "Mary D" or "SAM" - John's two special nicknames for Mary, has gone to heaven first to clean a little, to prepare for Happy Hours and home cooked dinners, and to pave the way for those of us who will follow.  A private family celebration has taken place.  A very special "Thank You" to Dr. Morton, to the team from the LHIN, the Palliative Care Team and to all the wonderful people at Closing The Gap.  For those who wish to give, donations in lieu of flowers in Mary's memory to The Huntsville Hospital Foundation are appreciated www.huntsvillehospitalfoundation.ca
