Marion passed away peacefully with the assistance of MAID, surrounded by her family, at Andy’s House in Port Carling. Born in Colborne Township on March 03, 1936, to David and Melissa (Johnston) Pitblado. Marion was predeceased by her mom and dad, brothers James and David Pitblado, and her sisters Wilma Yake, Dorothy Nobes and Kay MacIntosh and her twin sister Marg Bennett.
Marion will be greatly missed. She was Mom to Scott (Allison) Patterson, and Delynne Patterson; Grandma to Shawn (Tammy) Patterson, Tyler (Michelle) Patterson and Kylie (Cooper) Ainsley; and Granny to her great grandchildren J.J., Skylar, Aria, Brooklyn, Dawson, and Regan, and Aunt to 4 generations of nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her sister Ada Harvey and many friends who loved her dearly!
Marion was raised in the Goderich area and enjoyed her many trips home to visit with her entire extended family. Marion loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marion loved sports and passed that love on to her children and never missed one of Scott or Delynne’s games. Marion enjoyed summer visits with the grandchildren and especially loved the camping experiences. When travelling became difficult for Marion, she kept up on the daily events of her family with visits to her, phone calls, and she spent much time watching videos posted of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s accomplishments. She was an immensely proud mom, grandma, and granny!
Marion spent most of her nursing career in Brampton. During her 27 years at PMH she became the Head Nurse of the Emergency Department, then a Nursing Supervisor and ended her time at PMHl as the Assistant Director- Materials Management. As an emergency nurse, Marion helped form the Emergency Nurse Association and was the first vice-president. Marion spent her final 9 years in Owen Sound helping to set up and then run the materials management system in their new hospital. Marion retired in 1994.
