McDONALD, Margaret "Audrey"

Passed away at her home in Burks Falls on October 2, 2023 in her 90th year. She is the beloved wife of the late John "Basil" McDonald.  She is the loving mother of Margaret Brady, Anne (Dave) McDonald, Mary McDonald and Sharon (Dave) McDonald Howson.  Cherished grandmother of John, Megan, Kate, Emma and Alec.  Great-grandmother of Laura and Paige.

Audrey expressed herself with many hobbies during her life including knitting and sewing, collecting and polishing rocks, making jewelry, pottery and stained glass. She loved the anticipation of surprises, nature, and enjoyed travelling and camping. Later in life she tried golfing, dragon boating, darts and shuffleboard. Audrey was passionate about this country’s politics and was an avid historian.

Audrey (fondly called Nana by her grandchildren and great grandchildren) was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was the rock and foundation of our lives with unwavering support, steady strength and loving guidance. She epitomized perseverance and overcoming challenges with grace. Audrey lived with joy and an incredible zest for life  She is loved beyond measure and is dearly missed.
