Margaret Masterson

MASTERSON, Margaret Karen (nee Villeneuve)

Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, September 4, 2023, at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital at the age of 82.  Married to her beloved husband, Robert for 61 years.  She is survived by her loving and proud children, Jeff (Sue) and Derek (Lisa) Masterson, grandchildren Elisha, Kaitlyn, Daniel, Maxwell and Spencer and her cherished great grandchild, Carter.  She leaves behind her brothers Tom (Susan) and Lionel (Trina) Villeneuve to mourn her passing.  She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, her extended family and many friends both near and far.

Margaret obtained her BA from York University and taught at the York Catholic District School Board; the majority of her teaching career was as a kindergarten teacher.  Margaret gave back to her community by volunteering at the Huntsville Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, she was a member of the Huntsville Probus Club and a member of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. 

The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Huntsville, officiated by Fr. Dominik Mbah.  Reception to follow.  Margaret will be laid to rest at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation in lieu of flowers.
