Laurie Anne McCormack

It is with great sadness that we accept the passing of a beloved wife, mother, Baba and sister; Laurie McCormack (nee Mitroff). Surounded by the love of family and the compassionate care of Algonquin Grace Hospice Huntsville, Laurie peacefully slipped away on April 4th 2025.

Laurie is survived by her husband of 42 years, John, her stepdaughter Dana (husband Jeff), four adored grandchildren, Daniel, Leah, Matthew, Jacob; sisters Carolyn, Stephanie, Joanne, Kathryn, brother John, sister-in-law Rose-Marie (husband Joe), brother-in-law Keith and numerous nieces and nephews.

A resident of Huntsville for the past four decades, Laurie was in Financial Services throughout her career and enjoyed her interactions and friendships with the numerous clients she was able to assist. Later in her career she was involved in her husband's business at Just Lubes and JL Car Care.

Her sense of humour was strong, she needed that to keep up with her husband John.

Her love for her grandchildren was more than evident in the photos and stories she passed along; and her strength in standing her ground as an individual in a family of 8 children was well known among her siblings.

We will miss you Laurie, we will always cherish you and we will think of you often sharing an iced cap with your sister Veronica or sitting in the "presidents" chair during family card games. We are at peace knowing that you have joined your mom, dad, brother Danny and sister Veronica who will continue looking over us all at camp.

“We can no longer see you with our eyes. We can no longer touch you with our hands. But we will always remember you with our hearts.”

Cremation has taken place and will be followed by a private family service at a later date.

Thank you to the many doctors & nurses who cared for Laurie at the Huntsville Memorial Hospital, Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital; and the most heartfelt thank you to the compassionate team at Algonquin Grace Hospice Huntsville for their love, care & support of Laurie and her family.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Laurie’s memory to Algonquin Grace Hospice Huntsville (Donate Here) is appreciated.
