The family of John Clarence Arthur Martin are sad to announce his passing on December 30, 2024. Although, we are sad and feel a great loss and emptiness we know that he is no longer in pain and struggling for breath.
John is lovingly survived by his sisters Mary Jane Murphy, Connie Skinner, and Beryl Green (Bob) and sister-in-law Leona Martin, as well as 13 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jenny (nee Boothby) and Clarence Martin, as well as his brother "Ted" Edward Martin.
John was a quiet gentleman. He was close to his siblings and would travel to participate in family functions. He was a great support to his family especially his mother and chose to stay with her after his fathers passing. As she aged John took great care of her. They moved around in the Huntsville, Novar and surrounding areas.
John spent the last two years in Fairvern and his family appreciates the great care and respect he was given there. He especially enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to the live music. Prior to Fairvern he lived at 114 Brunel Road where he enjoyed the banter with fellow residents.
John was a labourer working in road construction and factories most of his life. He worked at Huntsville Timber for many years until it closed.
John enjoyed watching sports and was a big fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring when his ashes can be interred along side his parents at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery. Date and time to be announced at a later date.
