WOODCROFT, James (Jim)
Peacefully and surrounded by the love of his family, Jim passed on to eternal life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Helen (Olds) for 62 years. Pre-deceased by his parents John and Agnes Woodcroft and sisters Joan Peace and Barb (Larry) DeNardis. Cherished and devoted father and father-in-Law of John and Jo Anne, Bud and Heather, Warren and Santa, Christopher and Nilufer, The late Gregory and Bobbi, and Patrick and Serena. Jim was beloved Grandpa Woody to Laura and Jason Clark, Katie Woodcroft and Brad Skillen, Dr. Mark Woodcroft and Dr. Heather Ritter, Jimmy, Ryan, Matthew, Sean, Amanda, Nikki, Jessica, Joey and Lilah. He was also Great Grandpa Woody to Maeve and Leo.
Jim was a cherished brother-in-law of Tommy, Father Fred, Gary Olds and Cathy Brims. Jim will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Jim was an employee at Procter and Gamble Hamilton and Toronto for 39 years. Jim was witty and had a wonderful sense of humour and was an avid sportsmen, especially golf. Jim and Helen were active parishioners at St. Eugene's R.C. Church in Hamilton for 51 years until they moved to their cottage in Port Sydney in 2007.
The family will receive friends at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville on Friday, September, 14, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 12 Centre Street N., Huntsville on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The family invites you to share stories at a reception to follow at Billingsley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Helen and her children would like to thank the wonderful staff at Muskoka Landing Nursing Home for their excellent care of Jim for the past 2 and a half years.
