Inga Mary Allan (nee Johansen) went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. She passed away peacefully with family at her side.
Inga was born January 17th, 1934, in Toronto, Ontario to father Finn Johansen and mother, Agnes Johansen (nee McCracken).
Inga had 3 siblings, Una, Karl and Ila. She and her sisters and brother were exceptionally close as children and remained so throughout their whole lives. They grew up during the Great Depression and the Second World War and leaned on each other and their mother and father for strength and comfort during difficult times.
Inga was pre-deceased by her first husband, Bob Dean, second husband, Grant Allan, her sister Una Edwards, brother Karl Johansen, and her youngest sister, Ila Johansen.
She was a proud mother of her children, Mark (late Lynn) Dean, Karl (Jo) Dean, Brenda Dean and Elaine (Edward) Super.
She was a cherished grandmother to Jessica, Jennifer, Jamie, Jordie (Bill), Logan, Tori, David (Alex), Daniel (Jessica), Bethany (Adam), and 11 great grandchildren. Also, numerous nephews and nieces.
Inga worked as a social worker in Toronto for many years. She was involved with MBC (Muskoka Bible Centre) since she was a child as her father helped build some of the original buildings. Inga and Grant retired to Huntsville 30 years ago and were very happy with their Christian family at Faith Baptist Church. Inga was a well-loved volunteer at the Table Food Bank since 2008.
Inga was an avid reader, talented artist and writer. She performed biblical monologues in Ontario, Alberta, and the Arctic. Inga was a cherished friend by many and had a positive impact on those who knew her.
Inga made it clear to her family in her final days that she was ready to meet her Saviour and was looking forward to going home to heaven. Her greatest desire was that all would trust the Lord Jesus as Saviour so that she would one day see them again in heaven.
Special thanks to the staff at Huntsville hospital for their exceptional care and to her family doctor, Dr. Aleena Fiorotto.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, Huntsville. The family asks that you wear pink in her memory. Reception to follow. Inga will be laid to rest beside her husband at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery in the Spring. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations can be made to Muskoka Bible Chapel https://www.muskokabible.com/ or the Table Food Bank https://www.thetablefoundation.ca/
