Glenn McLachlan

The sudden death of Glenn McLachlan occurred on Sunday, October 6, 2019.

Predeceased by his parents Fred and Beatrice McLachlan, Glenn is survived by his loving family; his wife Sandy, his daughter Sara (Dinger), and his son Matty (Claire). He is also survived by his brothers Douglas and David and many nieces and nephews.

Glenn grew up in Toronto and he and his family spent summers at their cottage on Three Mile Lake until he finally moved to Huntsville to live the Muskoka dream in 1989. He then spent the next three decades boating, waterskiing and snowmobiling on Lake Vernon. Summer was his favourite time of the year and being at the lake brought out the best in him. Lakeside with an ice-cold beer in hand surrounded by friends and family was his happy place.

Glenn was a talented carpenter and musician. His passion was the drums. He loved the little things in life, especially Friday night jam sessions in the bunkie.

He had a love for cars, too, and it was his dream to rebuild his 1967 Camaro.

Glenn loved to laugh, and making other people laugh was one of his greatest gifts. He had the best sense of humour.

As a skilled carpenter, he had just started a new job at Tamarack and it was one that he loved and excelled at.

Gone but not forgotten. Glenn will be forever missed by his family and friends.

The funeral will be held at Billingsley Funeral Home on Thursday, October 10. There will be a viewing from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the service starting at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Cremation will follow.

A light lunch and refreshments will be served at the funeral home after the service.
