It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald “Gerry” Edward Appleyard on March 4, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. Gerry was born on November 19, 1963, to parents Bruce Appleyard and Eileen Appleyard (nee Broadbent). Gerry was a graduate of Huntsville High School. Gerry was a very hard worker and would do anything to help out when he could. He worked at Stewart’s Construction for a while, drove for Independent Taxi as a driver and a dispatcher, and delivered the Toronto Star paper with his dad. Gerry ran a boarding house here in Huntsville for a few years. He loved working on vehicles and would help anyone who needed it. Gerry’s priority was his family, he loved his kids more than anything, they were his greatest joy in life, and he loved them all very much.
Gerry will be greatly missed by his parents Bruce and Eileen, his siblings Rick (Bev) Appleyard, James (Amanda) Appleyard, Raymond Appleyard, and Joyce (Marvin) Green, his children Dillion, Ryan, and Damon, and his nieces and nephews; Matthew (Kayla), Taylor (Cody), Norman, Savannah, Quinton, Jackson, Rayna, Denim, and Kayden as well as many aunts and uncles. Gerry was predeceased by his brother Douglas Appleyard and his grandparents Henry and Henrietta Appleyard and Edison and Lorraine Broadbent.
Gerry did the best that he could for what he had in life and always welcomed and greeted everyone with a smile and a handshake. He will be forever in our hearts and will be missed every day by all his family and friends. Rest in peace Gerry and God bless you.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital ICU (Ways To Give), The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre U.H.N (Donate), The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation (Heart and Stroke Foundation Canada), or a charity of your choice.
