Gail Elizabeth Ford

Ford, Gail Elizabeth – August 15, 1963 to March 9, 2022.

On the evening of March 9th, 2022 in her 58th year, Gail passed away in the Huntsville Hospital after battling complications following a heart attack a few weeks prior. Daughter of the late John Eric Ford and Katharine Ford, Gail was the loving and devoted mother of Erica Saxon and Kathrin Hailey Guptill. Gail was the proud sister of adoring brothers Brian (Cynthia) and David Ford. She will be fondly remembered as loving Auntie Gail to niece and nephews, Ryan (Dana), Kyle, and Megan Ford, and Great Auntie Gail to Cole and Clayton Ford (sons of Kyle).  Gail was always the optimist, constantly looking on the bright side and wanting everyone to be as happy as her. She would go out of her way to make you smile or laugh, and there were many inside jokes shared with friends and family. She would always know she had succeeded in this endeavor when she spurred the famous “Ford Snort” – a trait that has been the pinnacle of good times, and a staple at family gatherings. A trait that her daughters are proud to have inherited from her, along with so many other things that will keep her legacy alive. While Gail’s larger than life presence was intense, her most heartfelt devotion was to her family and friends - especially her children. As a role model, if any friend, family member, neighbour or sometimes even strangers were in need, there was only one possible answer - “What can I do to help?” Gail was always known as the “Cool Mom”, offering a fun and safe space for all to hang out. Gail was not only welcoming to friends, she also supported her children through countless school and extracurricular activities including art or music lessons, sports, swimming, Brownies and Girl Guides (mostly for the cookies), all while passing on her sound values.

Gail leaves us with so many sentimental memories and has been an inspiration and support throughout all her communities in all aspects of her life, her inspiration and love live on.
In keeping with Gail's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday April 9th, 2022 at The Loft Kitchen & Bar beginning at 2pm.  The celebration will be live streamed, please reach out to Saxon or Hailey for details.
