CHURCHILL, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Reynolds)

Goodbye, my family, my life is past

I have loved you all to the very last

Weep not for me but courage take

Love each other for my sake

For those you love, don’t go away

They walk beside you every day.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Churchill (Reynolds) on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in her 91st year. Beloved wife to David Churchill for over 50 years. Dearly loved and missed by her daughters Suzanne Elizabeth Churchill (Peter Andrin) and their children Evan, Hunter and Hart, Alison Lynn Churchill-Cook and her children Graham and Eric, Diana Jane Churchill (Don Maclean) and their children Matt, Rachel, and Erika and Stephanie Jill Churchill (Chris Schweitzer) and their children Sterling, Calder and Summer. Betty is survived by her dear sisters Vera MacMillan and Marjorie Wickman (Lawrence Wickman), Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, David, to whom she was married for over fifty years and by her brother Bill Reynolds, sister-in-law Velma and brother-in-law Stan MacMillan.  Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Betty began her working life as a retail clerk at Eaton’s department store in Huntsville. She went on to graduate from Canada Business College in Toronto and became a bank stenographer, working in both Huntsville and later in West Hamilton. After marrying Dr. David Churchill, Betty worked as his secretary at his Chiropractic office in Dundas Ontario, where he maintained a practice for over fifty years. Betty was a beautiful person both inside and out who raised her four daughters in a kind and loving home. Betty canvassed for the Heart and Stroke Society, proudly receiving a fifty year pin. Betty had fun with fashion and had a subtle yet witty sense of humour. Over the years she displayed her artistic talent through ceramics, sewing and knitting. Betty loved to curl and along with her husband, was a long time member of the Granite Curling Club in Dundas where she rose to the position of Skip and led her team to numerous victories. A visitation will be held at Billingsley Funeral Home, Huntsville, on May 6, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home chapel at 12:30 p.m.  Interment to follow at Madill Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzherimer Society of Muskoka or Madill Church Preservation Society.
