McFADYEN, Eileen Violet Lillian (nee Astley)

Passed away peacefully on June 9, 2022, at her home in Huntsville in her 88th year.  Eileen was born on April 15, 1935, in Ilfracombe to parents Kenneth and Alice (nee Hopcraft) Astley.  She was happily married to Marvin McFadyen for 24 years, until his passing in 2017.  Eileen is survived by her loving children Shelley (Brian) Cotterchio and John Cookson.  Adored grandmother of Jessica (Rob), Shaylyn (Travis), Bradley, Coby, Noelle and Abigail.  Proud great-grandmother of Quinn, Rayna, Evelyn, Hailey and twins on the way!

Eileen worked in nursing for many years, first she worked in a home for people who live(d) with a developmental disability and then for many years in a nursing home in Alberta as an LPN.  In her spare time, she loved crocheting dishcloths and going to the Legion for the meat roll.  Eileen was a long-time volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

A celebration of life will be held on July 30, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 232.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 232 in lieu of flowers.  Messages of condolence can be left at www.billingsleyfuneralhome.com
