Douglas Patrick Allen

Doug was born on January 25, 1945 in Huntsville Ontario. He sadly passed away on March 7, 2025 at Andy’s House in Port Carling.

Doug is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol (Beirness). His daughters Sarah (Amanda), and Wendy. Grandchildren Janelle, Brittany, Jack and his Grand-fur-son, Spencer. His sister Caroline (Ted) and brother David (Lynn). Doug was predeceased by his sister Jaquie, Mother Olive and Father Hazen.

Doug loved being a machinist. Together with Carol, they opened their own machine shop in 1982, called Sarwen, a blend of their two daughters' names.

Doug was always happiest spending time with family and friends and in nature. He enjoyed hunting, reading books, and finding solutions to any kind of problem. Doug enjoyed his time travelling with Carol, children and friends, cooking amazing meals for family and friends and a nice glass of Scotch. He was always very easy to talk to and a great listener. Doug had the best stories to share and made everyone laugh. He was a one of a kind man, who left a huge void in all the lives of those who loved him.

Celebration of Life will take place at Billingsley Funeral Home on Saturday April 26, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
