Dorothy (Pitblado) Nobes

b. February 28, 1927

Heaven gained an angel, and now we have to let her go. With saddened hearts we announce the death of Dorothy Mae Nobes (nee Pitblado). Taking her final breath Thursday June 14th at 4:58 pm in her room at Huntsville Memorial Hospital with her two "most favourite" (as they will tell you) nieces by her side, Delynne and Joanne. Born in Colborne Township on February 28,1927 to Mother Melissa Emily Pitblado (nee Johnston) and Father David Whyte Pitblado, Dorothy was one of eight siblings. Dorothy is predeceased by brothers David and James Pitblado, and sisters Wilma Yake (nee Pitblado) and Kay MacIntosh. Dorothy is survived sisters Ada Harvey (nee Pitblado), Marion Patterson (nee Pitblado) and Margaret Bennett (nee Pitblado). Dorothy met husband Melvin Nobes (deceased) in Goderich ON they moved to St.Catherine's. Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter Carolyne Cowan (nee Nobes) and son Leslie Nobes. Living in Brampton with son Les from 1980-2009 Dorothy moved in with her younger sisters Margaret and Marion and spent her final years calling Huntsville home with the three sisters keeping one another company and driving one another crazy - all in love and none wanting it any other way! Dorothy was described as sweet, cute and funny by everyone that met her. Her stature was small but her quiet nature and fiesty sense of humour was anything but. Dorothy could always be found snuggled up, feet tucked up to one side with her knitting needles, a can of Coke, and for many years, a loyal friend curled at her feet, her pup Cuddles. An inflatable hippo in the pool, light up reindeer out front her house at Christmas, stuffies lining the front dash of her car, or more recently the solar bobble-heads lining her window sill at Country Moments Retirement Home; Dorothy liked to be surrounded by all things cute and cuddly, because that's what she was, cute and cuddly, not to mention someone who rarely let her feathers be ruffled. She will be missed dearly and never forgotten. Rest well; keep smiling; and don't tell any fibs about us before we get up there! Until we meet again sweet Dorothy Mae. Friends will be received at Billingsley Funeral Home, on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. The funeral will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
