Donna Muriel Gorman (nee Parker)

March 26, 1938 — February 14, 2025

Huntsville, Ontario

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Muriel Gorman (nee Parker) on February 14, 2025, at the age of 86. Donna was born on March 26, 1938, in Toronto, Ontario to parents George and Bettina Parker. Donna married her late husband William Ronald Wesley Gorman on October 31, 1959, in Mimico, Ontario.

After moving north to Huntsville in the early 60s, Donna was a stay-at-home mom for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors and living on the water. Donna lived in the house her and Bill built for over 60 years. She enjoyed her small neighbourhood on Glen Acres Road where she had many friendships over the years, and we know she was thankful for all the neighbour support they gave her in the last few months. When her children were older, Donna did some part-time housekeeping in town. Later in life, she enjoyed looking after her grandchildren.

Donna loved her grandchildren, bowling and sewing. She was a huge Toronto Blue Jays fan and rarely missed a game on TV. In her children’s younger years, she spent many hours with the Huntsville Skating Club. Later, she took time to volunteer for the special Olympics at the Bowling Alley. Later in life, Donna enjoyed playing games on her tablet or her computer.

Donna is survived by her daughters Kelly (Andy Smith), Kim (Steven Groomes) and Karen (Allan Hodgson), and grandchildren Jessica Smith (Scott Verkley), Austin Groomes (Kristen Bennet), Chole Sparling, and Hunter Hodgson. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn Kirkpatrick (Paul) and her brother Robert “Bob” Parker (Darlene). Donna is predeceased by her husband William Gorman.

As per Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life in the spring to allow her friends and family to come to celebrate when the roads are more easily travelled. Date to be announced.

Memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Algonquin Grace Hospice (Donate Here). The family would like to thank the palliative care team and all the staff at the hospice for the wonderful care they gave.
