YIELDING, Daniel Norman
November 12, 1939 - March 27, 2023
Passed peacefully, with Lynda at his side, on Monday, March 27, 2023 at his residence in Huntsville at the age of 83.
Most of Dan's years as an educator and administrator were spent in North York. Proud of his conflict management knowledge that he shared with teachers in workshops across the province and his support of his staff. His interest in working with students at all the schools at which he worked was his top priority. One of his favourite times was working with the food science students in the kitchen. Not only was it fun, he thought it was a time to model a male enjoying being the cook-creating, cooking and presenting a plate.
He was very grateful for his almost 30 years of sobriety. A strong quiet model for both newcomers and old timers. A gentle and firm example of living the 12 steps as well as a determined advocate of the 12 traditions. He walked the talk. Throughout his involvement in AAC, whether as a judge, board member or as a sucesssful handler at the regional and national levels, he was thought of as a kind, humble, gentle gentleman with a warm sense of humour and a quick wit. He loved and was loved by his Nova Scotia Duck Tollers, Spryte and Rebecca, both of whom were on the podium at regionals and nationals. He judged at all levels from British Columbia to Newfoundland.
Beloved protector and best friend of Lynda, his wife of 40 plus years; chosen father of Cathy.
Nothing left unsaid.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Hospice Huntsville in lieu of flowers.
