Daisy Glenna Stanyer

June 21, 1935 — December 23, 2024

Huntsville, Ontario

Daisy Glenna Stanyer passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on December 23, 2024, at the Algonquin Grace Hospice.

She was born in Huntsville to parents George Rowling and Daisy Hughes on June 21, 1935. She is predeceased by her brother Bruce Rowling ( who died at age 18 months)

Her mother died in childbirth and left the care of her and her twin sister Mary to her mother’s family. They were raised together by her grandmother, Ann Hughes, her Aunt Ruth Reynolds and her Uncle Harvey, on their farm in Aspdin. She lost her twin sister, Mary to cancer on June 2, 2020. .

Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Jennings and her second husband Ken Stanyer.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Judy (Dan) Smith, Joanne (Bob) Chipperfield, (Sandy)Alexander (Esther) Jennings, Jill (Fred) Di Somma, and her step children, Karen Grant, Fred Stanyer ( Colleen), Kerry ( Chita) Stanyer

Dear grandmother of Jody (Garth) Huggins, James ( Kelly) Smith, Melanie (Ben) Anthony, Sarah (Sean) Smith, Jonathan Robertson (Erin), Amberly (Josh) Wouda, Shelanne (Jeremy) Augustine, Curtis (Sarah) Jennings, Caleb (Erica) Berry, Josh Berry, and step- grandchildren, Chelsea Chipperfield ( Zack), Brandon, Felecia, Jacob Di Somma (Liz), Amanda Stepanick, Micheal Stanyer

Fondly remembered by 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering faith, deep love for family and God, her community and inspiring courage in the face of life’s greatest challenges.

Her family extends their gratitude to Dr. Gopalakrishnan at the Northeast Cancer Centre, the chemo staff at Huntsville Hospital, HOPE palliative care team, Closing the Gap nurses, and the Algonquin Grace Hospice.

A visitation will take place on January 2, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. at Billingsley Funeral Home. The funeral service will occur on January 3, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Huntsville Gospel Hall and a reception will follow. Livestreaming will be available for those unable to attend the funeral service which can be located in the service section.
