Carol Anne Hipson

Carol Anne Hipson (née Muir) passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4th, 2025 at Southlake Health Center in Newmarket leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew her. At the age of 87 Carol was with family by her side when she passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour. 

Carol was born in Toronto on December 16, 1937, and spent her younger years living in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. She returned to Toronto to finish school and went on to earn her Commercial Diploma. She was a secretary in the Healthcare Industry for over 25 years. 

Carol enjoyed volunteering with the Cub Scouts in her early 20’s and her leader name was Kim taken from the story of The Jungle Book. She loved her family and friends and was often hosting dinners or baking for others. If the number of dinner guests dipped below 12 then she would find more people to invite. Music was an important part of her life. She sang in her local church choirs and was a member of the cast for the Scarborough Gilbert and Sullivan Chorale Society for over 20 years. She provided the coffee and snacks at almost every rehearsal for all those years. Carol was a creative person and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and scrapbooking. Her gift of encouragement was evident to many as she shared her love through notes, gifts, and prayers for others. She had a ready smile and beautiful sense of humour. 

Love would be the best word to summarize who Carol was to family, friends and new acquaintances. She was quick with a hello and an invite to join in the activities around her. She will be missed by so many but most especially by her husband, Mel and her children Brenda (Robert), Craig (Nancy) and Sharon (Andrew) as well as her precious grandsons in whom she was so proud, Angus and Liam. Carol is also survived by her siblings Jim, Mike, Terry, Deb, Colleen and Pam. Carol is predeceased by her brother John. 

Family and friends will celebrate Carol’s life on Friday, April 11th, 2025 at 2pm at Faith Baptist Church located at 169 West Road in Huntsville. A visitation before the service will take place at the church from 12 noon until 2pm. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be a private service in the spring.
