Brian "Buck" Halden

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Halden, a devoted family man and cherished member of the Huntsville community, on April 3, 2025, at Huntsville Hospice. Born on July 4, 1936, Brian dedicated much of his life to his career in the trucking industry, a testament to his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his community.

Brian’s roots ran deep in the landscape of Huntsville, as he grew up on a farm on Sky Hills Road. As his life unfolded, family remained at the center of his world. He treasured each moment spent with his loved ones, finding great joy and pride in being a father to Kelley, Jeff (Maria), and Dawn (Craig). His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Kelsey (Kris), Samantha (Scott), and Kylar (Kourtney), as well as his great-grandchildren—Kingsley, Dalan, Kendrix, and Alia—who were the light of his life and a source of endless joy.

Beyond his devotion to family, Brian was a man of many interests and passions. A lover of music, he could often be found enjoying karaoke sessions or getting lost in the melodies that filled his home. His spirit thrived outdoors, whether he was camping, gardening, or indulging in his love for hunting. For Brian, a perfect gathering often included a cup of coffee shared with companions, laughter filling the air, paired with his beloved homemade Caesar salad into which he lovingly added garlic, just the way he liked it.

Brian's unwavering kindness extended beyond his immediate family to a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. He had a special bond with his dear friend, Lynne, and appreciated the diligent care he received from James, his caregiver. The community of Huntsville will surely miss his warm presence and infectious spirit.

As we prepare to celebrate Brian’s remarkable life, we invite family, friends, and all who knew him to join us. A Celebration of Life will be held at Billingsley Funeral Home, located at 430 Ravenscliffe Road in Huntsville, on April 11, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Speeches will follow at 3:30 PM, where we will gather to share cherished memories, honoring the legacy of a true gentleman who left an indelible mark on our hearts.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare team in Huntsville, including the supportive staff at Hospice and the dedicated dialysis nurses, who provided compassionate care to Brian during his final days. Also, thank you to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Muskoka Seniors for providing transportation to and from dialysis.

Brian Halden was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia, and his sister, Elsa. As we say goodbye, we hold dear the memories of his laughter, love, and unwavering dedication to family and friends. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of those he touched.
