McCLUSKEY, Anna ("Ann", nee McCormack)

With hearts filled with both sadness and admiration, we announce Mom's passing in Barrie, Ontario on October 12, 2022 at the age of 85.  She was surrounded by family and love.

Loving wife of the late Cecil McCluskey.  Wonderful mother to Heather (Chuck Sweet) and Holly (Tracy Fordham).  Devoted grandmother to Jennifer, Chrystopher and Sydney.  Proud great-grandmother to Riley, Aubrey and Edward.  Pre-deceased by parents Anna and John McCormack and siblings Jean, Bob, Marjorie and Joyce.  Survived by numerous nieces and nephews and brother-in-law Errol.

A proud Hamiltonian by birth, Mom devoted her time to causes and charitable organizations in which she believed.  Her involvement included the Hamilton PC Association of Women, the Ontario PC Association of Women and the Hamilton Council of Women.  She volunteered her time to the Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society and Hamilton Citizenship Court.  Her membership in the United Church Women started in Hamilton as well.  Upon retiring to Muskoka, where they had for years spent time at their cottage, Mom and Dad volunteered together for Meals on Wheels and she was an active member in the local UCW and ACW.  After Dad's passing she became a member of the Merry Mary Lakers.

Mom exemplified kindness and compassion and for many in the family was someone to whom they could always turn for advice, a sounding board or just a listening ear.  She was once described as being as constant as daffodils in the springtime.  If you needed her, she was always there.  In a world of uncertainties, she was our true north, always willing to guide in the right direction.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Knox United Church, Port Sydney at 12 pm.

Our family thanks those members of Mom's home health care team that provided compassionate and professional care.  In lieu of flowers or charitable donations, please do something special for a senior citizen in your life.
